Stage 6. Monforte-Chantada
STAGE 6 MONFORTE DE LEMOS-CHANTADA Monforte is abandoned crossing the Roman bridge, continuing along Calle Abeledos until reaching a couple of roundabouts. We take the one on the left and continue straight ahead along the road to A Vide. It is signposted. After a 3.7 km journey from the Roman bridge we reach A Corga. From this point there are two alternatives. In summer and with dry autumn we can enter the path that is signposted to the right of the road. In this case we would follow it to Campo. In winter and spring, the aforementioned path is impassable and you must continue along the aforementioned road, the CP-32.04, which goes to A Vide. Both the road and this road come together in Campo. In this town there is a beautiful church. We continue along the previous road to the Pazo de Regüengo, after which we have to take a steep path to the left that leads us, first to Castrotañe and then to Piñeiro. In this village we will find a magnificent source of drinking water, with a trough for livestock. We continue on the way to Camiño Grande and A Barxa. From here, along the CP-41.12 road, we will pass by Rendal, the Vilariño Rural House (on the left, which makes the pilgrim a good price) and Fontenla. Then by LU-58.07 we will cross the small towns of Vilaravides, Vilatiñosa, Sobrado, Cerdeiro, Vendanova, Outeiro, Montecelo, to reach Diomondi. Here is the famous church attached to the former palace of the Bishop of Lugo. From Diomondi we go down the Belesar elbows, a Roman road, to the Miño river. We crossed the bridge and we trudged up the road and path, crossing the vineyard terraces. We will find the villages of Ermida, Os Queixeiros, Alemparte, Fondo de Vila, Vilachá, Rubias and the chapel of San Pedro de Líncora. From this last point, going down CP-18.01 for about 3 km, we reach Chantada.
